South Korean national team striker Oh Hyeon-gyu (24) has left the Belgian league to join Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş, the club announced Wednesday.
The transfer fee is 14 million euros (approximately 24.1 billion won, or $16.8 million), with a contract running through June 2029, a period of three and a half years, according to the club.
Oh will wear the number 9 jersey, typically reserved for the team's main striker, as he joins the squad.
Beşiktaş, one of Turkey's most prestigious clubs based in Istanbul, has won 16 Süper Lig titles, 11 Turkish Cups, and 10 Super Cups.
The club recently lost starting striker Tammy Abraham to the English Premier League and signed Oh as a replacement to strengthen their attacking options.
Oh began his European career in January 2023 when he left Suwon Samsung Bluewings to join Scottish giants Celtic.
During one and a half seasons at Celtic, he appeared in 47 official matches and scored 12 goals, contributing to the club's domestic treble. He then moved to Belgian club Genk in the summer of 2024.
