Korean figure skating will open the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics with the team event, marking its first appearance in the competition in eight years since the 2018 PyeongChang Games.
The Korean figure skating team will compete in the team event starting February 6 (Korea time). The team event is a combined competition featuring all four figure skating disciplines—men's singles, women's singles, ice dance, and pairs—with separate medals awarded. However, Korea will participate in only three events as the country has no pairs skaters, meaning a realistic podium finish is unlikely with zero points in that discipline. Nevertheless, the event is expected to help individual competitors familiarize themselves with the local atmosphere and ice conditions ahead of their individual events.
Korea's team event campaign begins with ice dancers Lim Hae-na (22) and Kwon Ye (25) taking the ice for the rhythm dance at 5:55 p.m. on February 6. Later that day at 9:35 p.m., Shin Ji-a (18, Sewha Girls' High School) will compete in the women's singles short program. Cha Jun-hwan (25, Seoul City Hall) will then skate in the men's singles short program at 3:45 a.m. on February 8.
Ten nations qualified for the figure skating team event based on international competition results: Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Canada, Georgia, France, China, and Poland. Final standings will be determined by the combined ranking points earned across all disciplines.
