Arsenal defeated London rivals Chelsea to reach the Carabao Cup final, their first League Cup final appearance in eight years.
Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Carabao Cup semifinal at Emirates Stadium in London on Tuesday.
Having won the first leg 3-2 at Stamford Bridge on January 15, Arsenal advanced to the final with a 4-2 aggregate victory. The club now stands one step closer to their third Carabao Cup title and first since the 1992-1993 season, a span of 33 years.
This marks Arsenal's first League Cup final since the 2017-2018 season, when they lost to Manchester City.
Arsenal will face the winner of the Manchester City-Newcastle United semifinal in the final at Wembley Stadium in London on March 23.
The hero of the night was Kai Havertz, a former Chelsea player. The match remained deadlocked at 0-0 deep into the second half.
Havertz broke the deadlock in the 97th minute. On an Arsenal counterattack, Declan Rice played the ball from the left flank into the center, where Havertz collected it, rounded goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, and calmly slotted home with his right foot to score the winner.
