Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron captured the PNC Championship, a PGA Champions Tour event with a total purse of $1.085 million.
The Kuchar duo carded 18-under-par 54 in the second and final round at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club (par 72) in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, recording two eagles and 14 birdies. Finishing at a combined 33-under-par 111, the father-son pair claimed the $200,000 winner's prize (approximately 290 million won).
The PNC Championship is an event on the PGA Champions (senior) Tour where professional golfers team up with family members for a two-day scramble format competition, in which both players hit tee shots, select the better-positioned ball, and both play their next shots from that spot.
Kuchar, a nine-time PGA Tour winner, competed with his son Cameron, a junior golfer who will enter college next year. The Kuchars' 33-under-par total broke the tournament scoring record of 28-under set last year by Bernhard Langer of Germany and his son Jason.
Tied for second at 26-under-par 118 were Davis Love III and his son Dru, along with John Daly and John Daly II. Nelly Korda and her father Petr finished tied for fourth at 25-under. Defending champions Langer and son, seeking a third consecutive title, tied for seventh at 23-under, while Annika Sorenstam and son Will McGee placed 18th at 16-under.
