Park In-bee has been appointed as a board member and administrative committee member of the International Golf Federation (IGF).
Wow Management Group, Park's management agency, announced Wednesday that "Park In-bee will officially begin her role as IGF board member and administrative committee member representing the LPGA," adding that "she will be directly involved in strategic planning and mid-to-long-term policy development for global golf."
The IGF is an international sports organization with golf associations and organizations from 152 countries as members, with Annika Sorenstam of Sweden serving as president.
"Park In-bee is the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic gold medalist and the first player to achieve the Golden Career Grand Slam," the IGF said. "She has consistently served on the IGF Athletes' Committee for nine years, elevating the status of women's golf on the global stage."
The federation added, "As a Hall of Fame member, we expect her to bring significant influence to the IGF with her wealth of insight."
Park will participate in approving national federation memberships, overseeing Youth Olympic golf competitions, supervising the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC), and managing relationships with National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
"Drawing on my extensive experience, I will do my best to advance global golf in areas I have always been interested in, including strengthening the global recognition of Olympic golf, developing youth discovery and support programs, and popularizing golf," Park said.
