Medifield Hangang Hospital announced on the 4th that it has begun full operation of an integrated nursing-care service ward.
The integrated nursing-care service is a system in which professional nursing staff care for patients without guardians or private caregivers. Nurses and nursing assistants form teams to provide both nursing and caregiving for hospitalized patients. Through this, patients can receive more stable inpatient treatment, and guardians can reduce both caregiving and cost burdens, the hospital said.
Medifield Hangang Hospital renovated its ward environment and facilities to introduce the service. It also assigned professional nursing staff and established a patient-safety-focused operating system. The hospital is equipped with imaging equipment including a 3.0T MRI and the latest CT scanners. It is also enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficiency by using an artificial intelligence (AI)-based image analysis system. The hospital plans to provide systematic medical services in various fields, including emergency care, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, spine and joint diseases, and chronic diseases.
"This ward operation is a starting point for lowering the caregiving cost burden for local residents and creating an inpatient environment where patients and guardians can feel at ease," Hospital Director Kang Nam-gyu said. "Based on advanced equipment and professional medical staff, we will strengthen patient-centered medical services and become a general hospital that grows together with the local community."
Meanwhile, Medifield Hangang Hospital, located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, is a general hospital with a capacity of 300 beds and currently operates 207 beds.
