
Intellectual property (IP)-based venture firms in artificial intelligence (AI), ICT, bio, and energy and climate tech—sectors emerging as future growth engines for the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City—gathered in one place to pursue global expansion and mutual cooperation.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Venture Business Association said on the 3rd that it recently held the "Meetup Day for the Mutual Development of K-IP Venture Firms in the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City," jointly with the Anchor Business Group of Nambu University, at Sheng Kai on the third floor of the Breeze Gwangju by Lotte Hotel. The event explored ways to innovate the region's new industry intellectual property (IP) ecosystem in line with the launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City.
The event was attended by about 60 people, including local venture entrepreneurs and officials from policy and financial institutions such as the Nambu University Anchor Business Group's AI Demonstration Center, the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, the Honam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, the Gwangju Branch of the Korea Invention Promotion Association, the Gwangju Startup Branch of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and the Southwestern Investment and Finance Center of the Korea Development Bank.
A total of four companies participated in the corporate presentations.
Team PH7 introduced its vision recognition AI technology and a data-based healthcare collection platform. The company develops and operates the offline boutique fitness brand "FIST X" and the exercise prescription engine "DMS X."
Smart Media Company presented "Purivision," a solution combining air purifiers and digital signage. It is a climate tech convergence company holding design patents and remote indoor air quality control technology.
Fint Korea is a company developing medical biomaterials using low-temperature Sol-Gel synthesis technology. It is developing biodegradable stents, microneedles, and bone hemostatic agents, and has been selected as a G-Unicorn and a Global IP Star Company.
Bidone is a workflow automation solutions company based on its own content AI engine. It has launched the fashion-specialized AI solution "CELAI," the webtoon and animation AI "TOONAI," and the advertisement production AI "CLIPAI," and is expanding its business into the fields of video and physical AI solutions.
Through a business agreement signed on the day, the participating institutions and companies decided to pursue joint projects for the mutual development of regional K-IP patent-based small and medium-sized venture firms.
Kim Hyun-soo, chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Venture Business Association, said, "This Meetup Day was an occasion where firms relocating their headquarters from the Seoul metropolitan area and promising local IP venture firms together confirmed the technological competitiveness of the super-regional integrated economic bloc." He added, "We will provide continuous opportunities for exports and investment attraction by utilizing the association's overseas networks in the United States, China, India, and Indonesia."
