Heavy rain alerts have again been issued for Uiseong in North Gyeongsang Province and parts of Daegu and North Gyeongsang, just over eight hours after such alerts were lifted at 6 a.m. that day.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said it reissued a heavy rain alert for Uiseong at 2:30 p.m. on the 19th. At 3:50 p.m., it upgraded the alert to a heavy rain warning for Uiseong. A heavy rain warning is issued when three-hour rainfall is expected to reach 90mm or more, or 12-hour rainfall is expected to reach 180mm or more. At 3 p.m., a heavy rain advisory was additionally issued for Daegu and the southeastern part of Andong in North Gyeongsang.
As of 2:20 p.m. that day, Daegu and the North Gyeongsang cities of Gimcheon, Gumi, Chilgok, Uiseong and Andong were receiving strong rain of 20-40mm per hour.
As rain clouds develop locally, some areas may see very strong rain of 30-50mm per hour.
