"Imja Mannatne Village" in Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun, part of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, is drawing attention as a summer vacation destination by offering special experiences through a variety of programs that combine travel, healing, lodging, and hands-on activities in one place.
In line with this, the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City announced on the 10th that it has selected "Imja Mannatne Village" as a rural experience vacation village and is strengthening its promotional campaign.
"Imja Mannatne Village is a leading rural tourism destination where visitors can enjoy safe and pleasant rural experiences amid nature," said Kim Hyun-mi, head of the Agricultural Policy Division of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City. "As many visitors are expected to come during the summer vacation season, we will do our best to improve safety management and service quality."
The village is a rural experience vacation village established in 2012, when young people and village leaders came together to work toward the village's development.
It offers special experiences such as tidal flat and smart farm activities, where children can directly learn about and experience the natural ecosystem, as well as ocean survival swimming education that develops survival skills and safety awareness. In addition, visitors can enjoy refreshing water sports such as kayaking and boating, earning a strong response from tourists.
In particular, the village deploys instructors with professional qualifications for its experience programs, including two rural experience instructors, one lifesaving instructor, and two rope-play instructors, to prevent safety accidents and ensure that visitors experience no inconvenience.
Imja Island is a tourist destination that hosts a spring tulip festival and a summer croaker festival. Visitors can enjoy the festivals even more richly by tasting croaker, a summer health food, with the sea as a backdrop.
The village operates a community center that can accommodate up to 40 people, with 7 lodging rooms and 5 hanok experience rooms available as guest rooms.
Along with selecting and promoting the rural experience vacation village of the month, the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City is strengthening inspections of safety and hygiene management at rural experience vacation villages, rural homestays, and tourist farms through the 16th, so that visitors can spend their vacations in a clean and safe environment.
