Yangju, in Gyeonggi Province, has begun building an implementation system to strengthen the execution of campaign pledges for the ninth popular election term. The plan aims to go beyond simply listing pledges by thoroughly reviewing detailed action plans and funding measures to ensure their effectiveness.
According to the city on the 9th, Yangju held a "9th Popular Election Term Campaign Pledge Implementation Briefing" at the city hall situation room the previous day and began its pledge implementation review in earnest. The briefing was arranged to comprehensively review the direction and action plans for each campaign pledge since the launch of the ninth popular election term.
The briefing began on the 8th with reports on pledges under the jurisdiction of the director's office, the city library, and the planning and coordination office. It will be held six times in total through the end of July. Conducting the reviews department by department reflects an intention to examine each pledge in depth.
The briefing draws particular attention because it goes beyond detailed action plans and annual schedules for each pledge to also discuss funding measures, anticipated problems, and countermeasures. The aim is to review budgetary and administrative obstacles that may arise during pledge implementation in advance, minimizing setbacks.
"Campaign pledges are a solemn and stern promise to secure Yangju's future growth engine and improve the quality of life for citizens," Yangju Mayor Jung Deok-young said. "I ask all public officials to carry out their work with the sense of responsibility that 'I am the mayor,' carefully refining the plans from the action-planning stage, and to do their utmost to ensure the pledges are implemented without any setbacks."
