Seoul's Seodaemun-gu district will run a family experience program to observe the night sky with binoculars at the Seodaemun Museum of Natural History on the 25th from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The program is open to families including elementary school students, with up to four members per family able to apply. A total of eight families will be recruited. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis on the Seodaemun Museum of Natural History website starting at 11 a.m. on the 13th. The cost is 25,000 won per family.
Participants will learn how to properly use binoculars and observe the night sky before searching for constellations in the city. To allow ample observation of the night sky even after the training, binoculars will be lent free of charge for four weeks.
"The venue for generational bonding, where families step away from smartphone screens to observe the night sky and the universe, will be a special time for participating families," Seodaemun-gu Mayor Park Un-ki said.
