Seoul's Seodaemun-gu will run an experiential cultural project called "Pobangteo DaITso" in vacant spaces at Pobangteo Market from this month through November.
The initiative is part of a program to develop culture- and tourism-oriented markets, aimed at revitalizing the traditional market as a space combining hands-on experiences and culture.
The first program is a "Children's Cooking Class," to be held free of charge four times on the 11th: at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Participants will receive souvenirs.
In August, programs for foreigners and families will be offered, and various experiential events will continue from September through November. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through Naver reservations.
The district expects the project to draw more visitors and add vitality to the local commercial district.
