A platform has been established for deep-tech companies within the Research and Development Special Zone to expand global proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts.
The Innopolis Foundation said it held the '2026 Global Value-Up Camp' at Summit One in Seoul on the 9th, creating open innovation cooperation opportunities with domestic and foreign large companies to expand global PoC for deep-tech firms in the special zone.
About 100 people attended, including representatives from 43 special zone companies participating in the global PoC support program, as well as 18 domestic and foreign large companies and 11 investment institutions taking part for open innovation cooperation with these firms.
Participating large companies included Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung Biologics, Samsung SDS, Oracle, The Walt Disney Company, Kakao Mobility, POSCO International, Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, LG AI Research, and SK Innovation. Investment institutions included EcoPro Partners, T Investment, and Hyundai Motor Securities.
The event featured presentations of PoC cases involving large companies and special zone companies, introductions of large companies and investment institutions, presentations of special zone companies' technologies, products and services and PoC implementation plans, and open innovation cooperation networking.
The 43 special zone companies were divided into three fields—bio and healthcare; ESG, energy and smart infrastructure; and AI, mobility, robotics and smart industry—and presented their technologies, products and services, and global PoC implementation plans.
Domestic and foreign large companies and investment institutions reviewed the applicability of technologies, joint commercialization, and investment linkage possibilities based on each company's presentation, and discussed follow-up cooperation directions.
After the event, the Innopolis Foundation plans to survey cooperation demand among the participating large companies and investment institutions and to arrange one-on-one follow-up meetings (online and offline) for firms with confirmed mutual interest in cooperation. It plans to continue providing support so that these efforts lead to tangible results such as PoC implementation, investment attraction, and business cooperation.
"Through collaboration with domestic and foreign large companies, the Innopolis Foundation will expand the validation experience of special zone companies and support their expansion into overseas demonstration and global commercialization," said Jung Hee-kwon, chairman of the Innopolis Foundation.
