The People Power Party (PPP) at the Gyeonggi Provincial Council held a ceremony to award appointment certificates to its new floor leadership on the 9th at the fifth-floor auditorium of the PPP's Gyeonggi Provincial Chapter, marking the official launch of the new team.
The event was attended by floor leadership members, including Floor Leader Bang Sung-hwan, and Kim Sun-kyo, the PPP's Gyeonggi Provincial Chapter chairman and a member of the National Assembly. Along with the awarding of appointment certificates, participants shared future directions for legislative operations and organizational management plans.
The new floor leadership is organized around Floor Leader Bang Sung-hwan. It includes Lee Oh-soo as senior deputy floor leader for operations, Lee Hye-won as senior deputy floor leader for policy, Yoon Jong-young as policy committee chair, Kim Il-joong as senior chief for general affairs, Jung Yong-han as senior chief for political affairs, Kim Hyun-seok as senior chief for education, Oh Nam-seok as senior chief for planning, and Kim Sun-hee as chief spokesperson.
"I felt a heavy sense of responsibility over the outcome of 22 seats immediately after the election, but in forming the floor leadership, I have regained hope and confidence," Bang said. "Although our number of seats is small, we will create a PPP that earns the trust of residents through strong organization and policy capacity," he added.
He also stressed, "We will steadily prepare for the general election in two years and the local election in four years," adding, "We will systematically strengthen our capacity in policy, budget, and council operations." He further said he would build a united organization by communicating closely with local council members who lost their elections.
Provincial Chapter Chairman Kim Sun-kyo urged, "There is no need to be intimidated by numbers," adding, "Please show the PPP's strength through legislative activities for the residents."
The PPP at the Gyeonggi Provincial Council plans to focus on strengthening policy competitiveness and advancing its organizational management system on the occasion of this launch.
