Renault Korea is strengthening its regional partnership marketing by appointing private taxi drivers in the Busan area as brand ambassadors.
Renault Korea said Wednesday that it held a "Grand Koleos Ambassador" appointment ceremony Tuesday at its Dongnae business office in Busan, inviting local private taxi customers who operate the Grand Koleos.
The event was arranged to express gratitude to private taxi customers who have continuously used Renault Korea vehicles and to build a long-term cooperative relationship.
Renault Korea plans to sequentially appoint 50 private taxi drivers in the Busan area who operate the Grand Koleos Hybrid E-Tech as brand ambassadors. Driving the vehicles themselves, they will take on the role of promoting the Grand Koleos' product appeal and brand experience to Busan citizens and tourists.
Along with this, Renault Korea decided to offer a special purchase benefit of 5 million won per vehicle, limited to a maximum of 50 units, to private taxi customers who newly purchase a Grand Koleos taxi in Busan.
The private taxi drivers who attended the event cited the hybrid system's high fuel efficiency and spacious cargo capacity as major advantages. In particular, the hybrid system, which allows driving in electric mode up to 75% of the time during city driving, and the 633-liter trunk were rated as advantageous for loading the large luggage of airport and terminal passengers.
Renault Korea plans to continuously provide various benefits to the ambassadors, including custom business cards, free comprehensive inspection services, and vehicle referral incentives. The company said it will reflect feedback collected during on-the-road operations in future improvements to the vehicle's product appeal.
"We will actively reflect the diverse opinions from the field in product improvements and become a brand that grows together with the local community through differentiated services," said Park Sung-wook, general director of Renault Korea's Busan Task Force.
Meanwhile, the Grand Koleos, produced at the Busan plant, has surpassed 70,000 cumulative units sold in Korea since its launch last September, establishing itself as Renault Korea's flagship mid-size SUV.
