Gunpo City announced Wednesday that it has finalized "Fast, Certain Change, Citizen-Centered Gunpo" as the slogan for its ninth popularly elected administration.
The city explained that the slogan carries forward the value of "Citizens First, People-Centered," the vision of its seventh administration, while embodying a new identity that emphasizes change and innovation.
In particular, it reflects the city's determination to swiftly pursue tasks promised to citizens, including housing environment improvements and transportation innovation, to deliver results that residents can feel in their daily lives.
The city also presented five strategies to realize this goal.
In the urban sector, the goal is a "future-oriented new planned city," and in the safety and environment sector, a "green health city," while in the education and culture sector, a "creative culture hub city." In addition, the health and welfare sector aims for a "warm basic-living city," and the citizen participation sector for a "No. 1 city of citizen sovereignty enjoyed through AI."
The slogan was finalized through discussion and two rounds of voting, based on a proposal from the ninth administration's city planning task force.
"I will not hesitate if it means bringing change that citizens can feel in their daily lives," Gunpo Mayor Han Dae-hee said. "We will move forward faster, more firmly and more boldly."
