Seoul's Gangnam-gu said Thursday it participated in "Freedom Festa 2026," held at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek on Sunday, to promote medical tourism to U.S. Forces Korea personnel and their families.
The event drew approximately 15,000 visitors, and the district introduced Gangnam's medical technology and services to U.S. Forces Korea personnel, who represent high potential demand for medical tourism.
Four medical institutions, including CHA Gangnam Medical Center, participated on-site, offering one-on-one consultations by field, including women's health screening, infertility, rehabilitation treatment, and skin and non-surgical procedures.
Along with experience programs such as AI skin diagnosis, the district also operated medi-sale reservation consultations linked to September's "Gangnam Medi-Tour Festa," aiming to convert interest into actual visits.
The district plans to expand its recruitment of foreign patients through fam tours going forward.
