Ulsan will provide free car safety inspections starting July 12 in partnership with the Ulsan Metropolitan City Automobile Repair Cooperative, the city said Sunday.
The program was designed to reduce vehicle maintenance costs and improve owner satisfaction through preventive maintenance. It will be carried out three times this year.
The first free inspection will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 12. Residents wishing to have their vehicles inspected can visit on the day with their vehicle registration certificate. However, the registration deadline may be adjusted somewhat depending on on-site conditions and the number of waiting vehicles.
The program is available to passenger cars and vans owned by Ulsan residents. Cargo trucks and commercial vehicles are excluded.
The inspections will be conducted simultaneously at 67 member businesses affiliated with the Ulsan Metropolitan City Automobile Repair Cooperative. On-site professional mechanics will provide services including checks and refills of various oils, inspection of major components such as driving systems and tires, and free replacement of consumables such as wiper blades and brake bulbs. Other consumables requested by owners can be replaced at the owner's expense.
The program is particularly significant in that member businesses voluntarily participate despite it being a holiday, helping residents drive safely.
