Ulju County in Ulsan is recruiting participants for its "2026 Stay a Month and Travel in Ulju" program to promote stay-type tourism, the county said Tuesday.
The program was designed in line with the latest tourism trend of enjoying travel while staying long-term in a region. It supports participants in experiencing Ulju's nature, culture, and tourism resources firsthand and then promoting them online.
Eligible applicants are residents outside Ulsan aged 19 or older as of the announcement date, who have a strong interest in traveling in Ulju County and can carry out tourism promotion activities through personal social media and other channels. The county plans to recruit about 10 teams (up to two people per team), and applications will be accepted by email from the 13th to the 24th.
Selected participants will freely travel around Ulju County for a period of 4 to 29 nights between August 6 and November 22.
During their travels, they will experience the scenic natural landscapes including the Yeongnam Alps, as well as historical, cultural, and artistic resources and local festivals. They will then carry out various online tasks such as writing personal social media posts, creating travel reviews and recommended courses, and producing tourism promotion videos.
Ulju County will reimburse participants for lodging expenses (up to 70,000 won per team per day), experience fees and admission fees (up to 10,000 won per person per day), and travel insurance premiums (up to 20,000 won per person) at actual cost. The support will be paid after the trip ends, following a verification process once participants submit supporting documents such as a results report and receipts.
"This project is the first stay-type tourism support project in Ulsan," an Ulju County official said. "We hope for great interest and participation so that travelers can discover Ulju's hidden charms and, through this, bring vitality to the local economy."
