
Rain will fall across most of the country on Monday, while daytime temperatures will rise above 30 degrees Celsius in inland areas, making for hot conditions.
"Rain will fall nationwide, but many areas will see lulls," the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecast Sunday.
Expected rainfall is 20-60 millimeters for Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi; 10-40 millimeters for the five West Sea islands; 20-60 millimeters for Gangwon inland and mountainous areas; 5-20 millimeters for the Gangwon east coast; 20-60 millimeters for Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong; 20-60 millimeters for Gwangju, South Jeolla and North Jeolla; and 5-50 millimeters for South Gyeongsang inland, Daegu and North Gyeongsang.
The South Jeolla south coast and Jeju Island will see about 20-30 millimeters of rain per hour. Other areas may experience heavy rain of around 20 millimeters per hour. Sudden gusts accompanied by thunder and lightning may occur over the southern seas and Jeju waters through Monday, and over the West Sea through Tuesday, so caution is advised against maritime safety accidents.
Morning lows are expected to range from 20 to 24 degrees, with daytime highs of 26 to 31 degrees.
Expected morning lows for major cities are 24 degrees in Seoul, 23 degrees in Incheon, 22 degrees in Chuncheon, 22 degrees in Gangneung, 23 degrees in Daejeon, 23 degrees in Daegu, 23 degrees in Jeonju, 23 degrees in Gwangju, 22 degrees in Busan and 24 degrees in Jeju.
Daytime highs are 30 degrees in Seoul, 28 degrees in Incheon, 31 degrees in Chuncheon, 27 degrees in Gangneung, 29 degrees in Daejeon, 31 degrees in Daegu, 29 degrees in Jeonju, 30 degrees in Gwangju, 28 degrees in Busan and 30 degrees in Jeju.
With a heat advisory in effect for parts of inland North Gyeongsang, daytime temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees in many inland areas nationwide. The maximum perceived temperature will hover around 32 degrees in southern inland areas and around 31 degrees in other regions.
Fine dust concentrations will be at "good" levels across all regions, thanks to smooth atmospheric dispersion and the effects of rainfall.
