The Korea Arboreta and Gardens Institute held its "July Staff Communication Day" on Sunday at the main auditorium of the Sejong National Arboretum, with executives and employees including Chairman Shim Sang-taek, standing directors, and directors and division heads of each arboretum in attendance.
The Korea Arboreta and Gardens Institute intensively reviewed key second-half tasks, including: inspecting readiness for concentrated rainfall during the monsoon season; reviewing improvements and priority tasks in preparation for the 2026 management evaluation; preparing for the hosting of the international symposium on crop wild relatives (CWR) in forests; promoting on-site communication meetings for organizational culture innovation; and establishing public service discipline during the summer vacation season.
"In preparation for natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rainfall, and heat waves, please thoroughly inspect vulnerable facilities and firmly establish an emergency response system so that there are no gaps in preventing safety accidents," Chairman Shim said. "As the 2026 CWR International Symposium is an important event for building seed conservation infrastructure and strengthening international cooperation in the Asian region, please work toward its successful hosting."
Chairman Shim also said, "We will continuously inspect and supplement the institute's overall management system to become a public institution more trusted by the people," adding, "I will lead by example as the head of the institute, listening more often to voices from the field and moving more transparently and swiftly in the decision-making process."
