The Suyeong Police Station in Busan will set up a temporary police station at Gwangalli Beach for the summer vacation season and launch a 62-day special security operation. The plan is to strengthen crime prevention and rapid response systems at the crowded beach to create a safe tourism environment.
The Suyeong Police Station said it will operate the "Gwangalli Summer Police Station" in the Gwangalli Beach area from Tuesday through July 31.
During the beach operation period, the summer police station will strengthen crime prevention patrols and focus on preventing crimes that easily occur at vacation spots, such as illegal filming, theft, and sexual harassment. A criminal mobile team and a women and juveniles sex crime task force will also be deployed on site to respond immediately to incidents such as robbery, theft, and sex crimes.
Police will also carry out traffic management to ease traffic congestion around the beach and ensure pedestrian safety. In addition, the police plan to operate a seamless security network by building a cooperation system with related agencies, including local volunteer crime prevention patrols and local governments, to strengthen patrols and safety management.
As Gwangalli Beach is one of Busan's representative tourist destinations visited by countless tourists in summer, ensuring the safety of vacationers is cited as the top priority. The Suyeong Police Station plans to block crimes in advance through field-centered security activities and create an environment where citizens and tourists can enjoy their vacations with peace of mind.
