Law firm Yoon & Yang will host a seminar titled "Korea in Transition: Corporate Challenges and Opportunities" together with the Korea Enterprises Association (KEA), the firm said Friday. Yoon & Yang designed the seminar to help companies systematically review the government's policy direction and legislative environment for the second half of the year and develop proactive response strategies.
Kim Tae-nyeon, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's Special Committee on Balanced National Growth, will lead the first session. Kim plans to focus on changes in the political and economic environment following the June 3 local elections, the outlook for the National Assembly's parliamentary composition in the second half, and the key economic legislative direction of the Lee Jae-myung administration.
Three current Yoon & Yang advisers—Park Jin-kyu, former first vice minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; Shin Young-ho, former standing commissioner of the Fair Trade Commission; and Lim Seo-jung, former vice minister of the Ministry of Employment and Labor—will assess current issues and response strategies in the labor, industry, and fair trade sectors in the second session.
Starting with this seminar, Yoon & Yang plans to regularly provide venues to deepen understanding of the economic policies of the government and National Assembly, offering practical help to companies and strengthening its one-stop regulatory response advisory service through information sharing on major regulatory areas.
"This seminar was arranged to help not only corporate legal teams but also those in charge of external cooperation, strategic planning, and public relations to proactively grasp the policy direction of the government and National Assembly, and develop practical response strategies," said Hong Jung-seok, head of Yoon & Yang's GRC Group.
The seminar will be held at 2 p.m. on July 2 at the Yoon & Yang Training Center on the 34th floor of ASEM Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Participants can register in advance through the Yoon & Yang website until 10 a.m. on June 30. Admission is free.
