Showers will fall across most of the country on Sunday, except for parts of the southern region.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Saturday, showers accompanied by gusts, thunder and lightning are forecast mainly for the central region excluding the Yeongdong area of Gangwon, along with North Jeolla, the northern part of South Jeolla and inland North Gyeongsang. Hail may fall in some areas, so caution is needed regarding facility management and safety accidents.
Expected rainfall is 5-50 millimeters in the Seoul metropolitan area, 5-30 millimeters in inland Gangwon, 5-50 millimeters in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions, and 5-30 millimeters in inland North Gyeongsang. In particular, some parts of the Seoul metropolitan area may see heavy rain of around 20 millimeters per hour.
In areas with rain, visibility may decrease and roads may become slippery, so special attention to traffic safety is needed. Even in areas where showers are not forecast, the weather will be generally cloudy nationwide due to heavy cloud cover.
Morning lows are expected to range from 14 to 20 degrees, with daytime highs of 25 to 31 degrees. Temperatures will remain slightly above the seasonal average (lows of 15-19 degrees, highs of 23-29 degrees) for the time being.
Dense fog may form mainly along the west coast. Drivers should maintain sufficient distance between vehicles and reduce speed to prevent collisions.
