
Anyang has drawn up a 53.6 billion won supplementary budget to respond to high fuel and consumer prices caused by the fallout from the Middle East war.
According to the city Wednesday, Anyang submitted to the city council a second supplementary budget for 2026 totaling 2.0062 trillion won, an increase of 53.6 billion won, or 2.74%, from the first supplementary budget of 1.9526 trillion won.
The city explained that it pursued the emergency supplementary budget earlier than in previous years to stabilize the livelihood economy and revive the local economy.
By account, the general account was set at 1.7791 trillion won, up 53.6 billion won, or 3.1%, from the previous 1.7255 trillion won, while the special account remained unchanged at 227.1 billion won.
Major projects reflected in the budget include 42.34 billion won for high fuel cost damage support payments, 8.56 billion won in refunds for THE Gyeonggi Pass, and 107 million won for a farmland use survey. The budget was funded using 9.8 billion won in ordinary grant tax additionally allocated after the central government's supplementary budget, along with 43.7 billion won in national and provincial subsidies.
"We swiftly drew up the supplementary budget to ease the burden on citizens struggling with high fuel and consumer prices and to revive the local economy," Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho said. "I hope the projects are carried out without disruption and help citizens overcome the difficulties they face."
The second supplementary budget will be discussed at the Anyang City Council, which convenes from the 17th to the 19th.
