Dongducheon, a city in Gyeonggi Province, will provide childcare support of 250,000 won per month for each child to teen parents aged 24 or younger.
The program is designed to help teen parents who became parents at a young age and face difficulties balancing childrearing, economic activity and studies.
To be eligible, applicants must be maintaining a marital relationship, including common-law marriage, while raising children, and have income at or below 65 percent of the median. For a three-person household, this is 3,483,373 won per month or less. Once selected as a recipient, payments are made starting from the month in which the application date falls.
Households wishing to apply should visit the administrative welfare center in their area of residence with documents including a resident registration copy, family relationship certificate, income certificate and a copy of their bankbook.
Income documents must be submitted by both the father and the mother. For more details, applicants can contact Dongducheon's Family Support Division.
