A sensory festival set against colorful hydrangeas will be held in Jangsaengpo, Ulsan.
The Ulsan Nam-gu Urban Management Corporation said Tuesday that it has placed new hydrangea content and experience facilities at the forefront so visitors can enjoy the "2026 Jangsaengpo Hydrangea Festival" in a more diverse way, beginning its full preparations to welcome guests.
The Jangsaengpo Hydrangea Festival will be held under the theme "Jangsaengpo Hydrangeas, Riding Excitement!" from June 19 to 28 across the Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village in Nam-gu, Ulsan. With hydrangeas recently coming into full bloom, the corporation has deployed parking attendants at the large parking lot of the Whale Culture Special Zone and extended the operating hours of the Whale Culture Village to create a pleasant festival environment.
This year in particular, the hydrangeas are in record-good growth condition, raising expectations that visitors will be able to encounter the most colorful and beautiful hydrangeas up close.

The corporation has introduced a variety of new content to offer special memories to those visiting the festival site. The "Hydrangea Umbrella" and "Fabric Art" photo zones, created for the first time this year to produce a fairy-tale-like and romantic atmosphere, present unique scenery in harmony with the hydrangeas. These are drawing attention as photo spots that will capture the eyes of not only younger visitors but also family tourists.
Drawing the greatest anticipation at this year's festival is the new experience facility, the "Whales Cart." Visitors can take in Jangsaengpo's scenic landscape and hydrangea clusters at a glance while riding carts painted with whale characters. In particular, they can enjoy the exhilarating thrill of speeding along at up to 40 kilometers per hour, which is expected to win strong popularity among those who enjoy activities.
The aerial swing experience facility "Whales Swing" also adds to the festival's attractions. The Whales Swing is a facility where visitors can experience a unique thrill in the air against the backdrop of Jangsaengpo's blue sky and bright hydrangea scenery, set to offer visitors unforgettable, dynamic memories.
"This year, the hydrangea growth condition is record-good, so you can appreciate a more colorful wave of hydrangeas than ever before," said Lee Chun-sil, chairperson of the Ulsan Nam-gu Urban Management Corporation. "I hope you will leave beautiful memories at the newly introduced Hydrangea Umbrella and Fabric Art photo zones, and enjoy the wave of hydrangeas with your whole body, from the exciting Whales Cart ride to the sky-soaring Whales Swing."
