Saturday, June 6, which marks Memorial Day in Korea, will be mostly clear with no fine dust, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius mainly in the southern and Jeolla regions.
Morning lows are forecast at 11 to 18 degrees, while daytime highs are expected to range from 23 to 30 degrees. Temperatures will remain similar to seasonal averages (lows of 14 to 18 degrees, highs of 22 to 28 degrees) for the time being. Daytime highs are forecast at 28 degrees in Seoul, 29 degrees in Daegu, Jeonju, Gwangju and Cheongju, and 26 degrees in Busan.
Central regions, including the greater Seoul area, will be clear until the afternoon before gradually clouding over from late evening. Southern regions will see heavy clouds from the morning.
Fog may form mainly in central regions between dawn and morning, so drivers should take care for traffic safety.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to range from "good" to "moderate" across all regions.
Sea waves will rise 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the East and South seas, and 0.5 meters off the West Sea. In the inner open seas (open waters within about 200 kilometers of the coastline), wave heights are forecast at 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea, with relatively favorable air quality. However, as strong daytime sunlight activates photochemical reactions, ozone concentrations could rise to "bad" levels mainly in the greater Seoul area, North and South Chungcheong, Honam and Yeongnam on June 6, and in Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, South Chungcheong and Honam on June 7.
