"Experience artificial intelligence, drone, and robot technologies all in one place in Daejeon."
Daejeon City said Wednesday that it will host the "2026 Daejeon Advanced Robot Connect" for three days from June 9 to 11 at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC).
The event is notable for expanding and reorganizing the "Robot Convergence Festival," which until now had been run primarily around citizen experiences and competitions, into an industry-linked event centered on inter-company cooperation, investment attraction, and technology commercialization.
In particular, the event will be held together with the "2026 Korea Defense Industry Development Expo," a leading event for cooperation among industry, academia, research, government, and the military. It will present a convergence ecosystem that organically combines advanced robot technology with the defense industry.
Local robot companies including Saeon, Rastech, Lion Robotics, ITIZ, RGT, Axbis, Angel Robotics, and Kinetics will participate to exhibit and demonstrate advanced robot technologies and products.
In addition, a startup and technology commercialization program linked to the "Deep Tech Scale-up Valley Fostering Project" being promoted by KAIST will also be run.
On June 10, a commercialization competition for robotics-sector entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs will be held. At the "2026 Robot Alliance Technology Transfer Consultation Session" held on June 11, consultations on promising technologies and a technology matching program will be offered.
"This will be an opportunity to examine Daejeon's competitiveness in the robotics industry and its technological innovation capabilities," said Yoo Se-jong, head of the city's Future Strategic Industry Bureau.
