Plasmapp, a plasma medi-tech specialist, said Tuesday it has signed a plasma sterilizer supply contract worth approximately 3.5 billion won with QMED Master Distribution, a medical device distribution company based in Florida.
The two companies finalized the product supply terms and minimum purchase volume for the one-year period beginning from the date of the supply contract. QMED committed to a minimum purchase of 390 units worth approximately 3.5 billion won in total, including 300 units of Plasmapp's small plasma sterilizer STERLINK U510 and 90 units of the large sterilizer STERI 700. The products will be delivered according to a quarterly supply plan.
Plasmapp also granted QMED exclusive priority negotiation rights for the Mexican ophthalmology market for two years from the date of the contract. Through this, the two companies have laid the groundwork to expand their business beyond North America to the Latin American ophthalmology market.
Plasmapp granted QMED First Right of Refusal in the North American market for the large sterilizer STERI 700, which is scheduled for launch in the second half of the year. This means the company has established a structure that can immediately lead to additional supply contracts based on the existing partnership when new products are launched.
In addition, Plasmapp's plasma-based nerve treatment device 'PLASMA ENDO,' currently in the final stages of development, is undergoing regulatory approval procedures and is targeting a launch in the third quarter of 2026.
Plasmapp previously successfully signed a 2.5 billion won supply contract for dental plasma equipment with global implant company MegaGen Implant.
