A promotional video produced with the participation of staff from Korea's Public Procurement Service (PPS) and members of the public is drawing attention.
The PPS announced that it released "Paradise of Procurement," a promotional video designed to highlight the role and importance of public procurement and to deliver a message of "recovery and a leap forward" to citizens and businesses, through the agency's official YouTube channel on Tuesday.
The "Paradise of Procurement" music video breaks away from the conventional promotional approach centered on rigid policy explanations, instead taking the form of a popular music video.
Set against the lawn in front of the Daejeon Government Complex, the video features the direct participation of 19 PPS employees and nine citizens.
In particular, employees responsible for a wide range of duties — including procurement contracts for goods, services and facilities, electronic procurement, raw material stockpiling and state property management — appeared in person to showcase the broad spectrum of the agency's work. Innovative products and government procurement cultural items were used as props, naturally incorporating support policies for procurement firms into the video.
The PPS plans to sequentially release follow-up content through its official social media channels, including behind-the-scenes footage of the production process, interviews with participants and a public comment event for citizens.
"Just as the title of the music video suggests, we hope that public procurement can become a paradise for citizens and businesses," PPS spokesperson Park Cheol-woong said.
