The "12th DIMF Musical Star Final Round," a competition to discover future musical stars, will be held at Ayang Art Center in Daegu on November 7.
According to the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) on Tuesday, a total of 1,137 contestants, including overseas applicants, took part in this year's competition, marking the largest number of applicants in the event's history.
After passing through the first round, judged by video, and the second and third rounds, conducted through in-person auditions, 14 finalists will compete for the title of next-generation musical star.
Among the 14 finalists are three overseas contestants from Greater China, the United States and Indonesia.
On the day of the final round, they will take the stage before the audience and judging panel, showcasing their individuality and skills.
The DIMF Musical Star Final Round is free of charge for all seats, and tickets can be reserved through Naver's reservation page.
The event is open to viewers aged 7 and older.
Audiences can take part in advance voting and on-site voting through the official voting platform "Plustar," with results reflected in the selection of the Popularity Award winner and in the judging scores.
"DIMF Musical Star has recorded the largest number of applicants in its history and is expanding from the domestic stage to the global stage," DIMF Executive Committee Chairman Bae Sung-hyuk said. "We ask for your continued interest and support so that the contestants can fully demonstrate their own potential."
