Incheon Transit Corp. is holding a discount event on the Wolmi Sea Train for public safety workers and national merit recipients to mark Korea's Memorial Month honoring patriots and veterans.
The "Heroes in Wolmi" event runs from June 2 through June 30. Soldiers, police officers, firefighters and national merit recipients, along with up to four companions, will receive a 50% discount on fares. The weekday fare drops to 5,500 won from 11,000 won.
The discount applies only to on-site ticketing on weekdays. Eligible riders must present a military ID, public official ID or national merit certificate at the ticket booth. The promotion cannot be combined with online reservations or other discounts.
The Wolmi Sea Train is a 6.1-kilometer monorail that circles the coast of Wolmido island.
"We prepared this event to express our gratitude to those who have dedicated themselves to the country," Incheon Transit Corp. President Choi Jung-kyu said.
