The National Court Administration, the judicial administrative body under the Supreme Court of Korea, has published a guidebook titled "The Court's Story of Real Estate Registration" to enhance public interest in and understanding of the real estate registration system, the agency announced Wednesday. The guidebook was prepared to provide registration information and lower the entry barriers caused by legal terminology and unfamiliar procedures.
The book is designed to serve as a registration guide for everyone, from young adults entering society for the first time to middle-aged and older readers looking to purchase a home or receive an inheritance. It is organized into five chapters: Chapter 1, "First Encounter with Real Estate Registration"; Chapter 2, "Jeonse and Monthly Rent Registration for Young Adults"; Chapter 3, "Registration for Buying Your Own Home"; Chapter 4, "Inheritance Registration"; and Chapter 5, "Small Tips for Protecting Your Assets."
The National Court Administration included a wide range of actual registration record examples and added sections such as "Curious Registration Stories," "Wait a Moment!" and "Tips from the Registrar" to keep the content professional yet easy to understand. An official from the National Court Administration said the book is expected to serve not only as a practical guide but also as an introductory text on property law for the general public.
The guidebook will be distributed to university and public libraries and is available for purchase at online bookstores. Bulk purchases can also be made through the Judicial Development Foundation.
Meanwhile, the National Court Administration is also pursuing an AI transformation of the registration system. In February this year, it held an academic conference under the theme "The Great AI Transformation of the Registration System," where participants discussed ways to utilize AI for innovation in registration affairs and key issues in implementing an AI-based registration system.
