
Most of South Korea will be cloudy on Monday, the first day of June. Rain that begins in Jeju is expected to spread to the southern coast by nighttime.
The Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon will be mostly cloudy before gradually clearing from the evening. Cloudy weather will persist throughout the Chungcheong region, the southern provinces, and Jeju.
Rain will start falling in Jeju in the morning and spread to parts of the southern coasts of South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang by night. Expected rainfall in Jeju is 30 to 80 millimeters, with some areas receiving more than 120 millimeters and mountainous regions seeing downpours exceeding 150 millimeters.
Morning lows are forecast at 14 to 21 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will reach 27 to 32 degrees. The eastern coast of Gangwon, South Chungcheong, and the southern provinces will feel hot, with the apparent temperature climbing to around 31 degrees.
Ultraviolet radiation will also be strong. The UV index is expected to reach the "very high" level in most parts of the country between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Waves will rise 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, while the West Sea coastal waters will see waves of around 0.5 meters. In the inner offshore waters, waves are forecast at 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the South Sea.
