Seoul's Mapo District has set up a "Just Give Corner" at the first and second branches of the Mapo Happy Sharing Food Market, providing food and daily necessities to residents facing crises or economic hardship without any separate selection procedure.
Any resident registered in Mapo District is eligible to use the service and can receive goods worth approximately 20,000 won per person.
The corner is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and users must bring an identification card.
Upon revisit, consultations will be provided to connect users with related welfare services.
Through this initiative, the district plans to address welfare blind spots and strengthen efforts to identify households in crisis. Support items include food products such as rice, instant rice, ramen and canned goods, as well as daily necessities such as toilet paper and shampoo.
However, the service may close early on days when the prepared inventory runs out.
