Seoul's Guro-gu district has extended its "2025-2026 Season COVID-19 Vaccination Program" through the 30th to prepare for a potential summer wave of COVID-19.
Eligible recipients include seniors aged 65 and older, immunocompromised individuals, and patients or residents at infection-vulnerable facilities. Immunocompromised individuals who have already received this season's vaccine may receive one additional dose starting this month if deemed necessary after consultation with medical staff.
Vaccinations are available free of charge at designated medical institutions nationwide. A total of 131 medical institutions within Guro-gu have been designated to administer the vaccines. Recipients must bring identification such as a resident registration card, and immunocompromised individuals must also submit supporting documents such as a medical certificate or prescription to verify their eligibility.
"To prepare for a resurgence of COVID-19 this summer, timely vaccination of high-risk groups is more important than anything else," a Guro-gu official said. "We urge those who have not yet been vaccinated or who require an additional dose to participate during the extension period."
