A worker in his 60s was seriously injured Thursday after being pinned under heavy equipment at a substation construction site in Jangsu-eup, Jangsu County, North Jeolla Province.
The accident occurred at around 10:27 a.m., according to police.
The worker, identified only as A, was setting up a piece of heavy equipment weighing 700 kilograms in preparation for transformer installation work when he became trapped underneath, authorities said. He sustained serious injuries to his legs and other parts of his body and was transported to a hospital.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
