"Exercise and earn incentives."
The Daejeon Metropolitan Facilities Management Corp. announced Tuesday that it will fully introduce "Tunteun Money," a sports activity incentive program, in partnership with the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, for citizens using public sports facilities operated by the corporation.
"Tunteun Money" is a participatory health welfare service that encourages voluntary athletic activities among citizens, going beyond simple facility use. The program is designed to award points based on exercise records that can be used in various areas of daily life.
Accumulated points can be converted into sports gift certificates such as Zero Pay and Sli Money, as well as cultural gift certificates (for those under 14), and can be used to purchase sports goods or at pharmacies.
Eligible facilities include 13 public sports venues operated by the Daejeon Facilities Management Corp., such as swimming pools (Yongun and Hanbat), the National Sports Center, and the Multi-Cultural Sports Center, along with the Giseong General Welfare Center and the Gujeuk Cultural Center.
Users can earn points by verifying their participation before and after exercise via QR code when using the facilities, with 500 points awarded per session. Points can be earned once a day, five times a week, up to a maximum of 100 times, accumulating up to 50,000 points per year.
"This will expand citizens' use of public sports facilities," an official from the Daejeon Facilities Management Corp. said.
