Daegu Health College announced on the 27th that it swept top honors, including the grand prize and the highest excellence award, at the spring conference of the Korean Society of Digital Medical Imaging held recently at Konkuk University.
The conference, hosted by the Korean Society of Digital Medical Imaging, drew about 300 participants — including professors, clinical radiologic technologists and graduate students from across the country — to share research findings and promote digital advances in the radiology field.
In the finals of the student paper presentation, 16 papers were selected from four-year radiology departments nationwide for presentation and judging.
Choi Ji-min, a second-year radiology student, won the grand prize for her presentation titled "Comparison of Interpretation Rates of X-ray Short-bone Images Using Data Mining Tools."
Kwon Min-jae, a third-year student, received the highest excellence award for his presentation titled "Comparison of Interpretation Rates of Lateral Cervical Spine X-ray Images Using the Orange3 Classification Model."
Three other students also received excellence awards.
Sim Jae-gu, head of the Department of Radiology, said, "This is the result of a systematic hands-on training system combined with our students' passion. We will continue to focus on cultivating practice-oriented radiology professionals who can actively respond to changes in the digital medical imaging field."
