Heavy rain is expected nationwide on Tuesday, the day after the holiday weekend.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), expected rainfall on Tuesday is 30-100mm in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province; 30-80mm in Gangwon Province; 30-80mm in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong; 30-80mm in North Jeolla; and 30-80mm in Daegu and North Gyeongsang.
Particularly heavy rain is forecast for the South Jeolla coast and areas near Mount Jiri at 80-150mm (more than 200mm in some areas), as well as the southern coasts of Busan and South Gyeongsang and areas near Mount Jiri at 80-150mm (more than 200mm in some areas).
Jeju Island will see 30-80mm of rain in the north and 50-150mm in other areas (more than 200mm in mid-mountain areas and more than 300mm in mountainous regions in some places).
The rainfall is expected to continue through Wednesday.
Temperatures will be somewhat lower compared to the previous day, when daytime highs reached 30°C. Morning lows on Tuesday will range from 17 to 21°C, with daytime highs between 21 and 25°C.
Expected morning lows in major cities are 21°C in Seoul, 21°C in Incheon, 19°C in Chuncheon, 20°C in Gangneung, 20°C in Daejeon, 19°C in Daegu, 21°C in Jeonju, 21°C in Gwangju, 19°C in Busan and 21°C in Jeju.
Daytime highs are forecast at 25°C in Seoul, 25°C in Incheon, 24°C in Chuncheon, 24°C in Gangneung, 24°C in Daejeon, 23°C in Daegu, 25°C in Jeonju, 24°C in Gwangju, 23°C in Busan and 27°C in Jeju.
Waves will reach 0.5-2.5m in the East Sea and South Sea coastal waters, and 0.5-1.5m in the West Sea coastal waters.
Wave heights in inner offshore waters (within about 200km of the coastline) are expected to be 0.5-3.5m in the East Sea, 0.5-2.5m in the West Sea and 1.0-3.5m in the South Sea.
