Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) has been recognized for its strong self-audit performance.
Korail announced Wednesday that it received an 'A' grade for the second consecutive year in the "Public Institution Self-Audit Activity Evaluation" conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea.
The state-run rail operator scored highly across all three core indicators: institutional-level commitment and support for the internal audit body, the composition and staffing of the audit body, and the performance of self-audit activities.
Korail ranked at the top in the self-audit performance category, placing first among the eight public enterprises in the social overhead capital (SOC) category.
"We will actively work to enhance audit expertise and strengthen the effectiveness of internal control operations," said Keum Hong-seop, Korail's standing audit commissioner.
