The Mobility Innovation Center at Gyeonggi College of Science and Technology is launching a one-stop support system to help electric vehicle charging infrastructure companies expand into overseas markets.
According to the university on the 19th, the center participated in the "2026 Korea Electronics Manufacturing Industry Exhibition" held at COEX in Seoul from April 8 to 10, where it showcased its EV charger testing and certification capabilities along with corporate support programs.
At the exhibition, the center promoted customized services centered on its project to "establish a verification-based testing and certification foundation for EV charging infrastructure for global market entry." It offered reliability and durability testing services for charger components and distributed database (DB) materials related to the European EV charger certification system.
The aim is to help small and medium-sized enterprises preparing for overseas expansion respond efficiently to complex certification procedures.
The exhibition booth drew strong interest from a wide range of industry participants, including charger manufacturers, parts companies, testing and certification institutions, and research organizations. Active consultations took place on charger reliability evaluation, environmental testing, and strategies for obtaining overseas certifications. The center also conducted a survey on demand for testing and evaluation equipment, gathering feedback directly from the field.
The EV charging infrastructure market is growing rapidly, and as domestic charger manufacturers increasingly seek to enter European and North American markets, securing local certification has emerged as a critical challenge.
Based on the corporate demand identified through the exhibition, the center plans to expand customized support. It will strengthen the shared use of testing and evaluation equipment and continue operating specialized training programs for charging infrastructure.
"The EV charging industry is a field where ensuring safety and reliability matters more than anything else," said Lee Seung-ho, head of the Mobility Innovation Center. "We will continue to expand our testing and certification infrastructure and specialized training programs to support companies entering global markets."
