Geoje City in South Gyeongsang Province is recruiting participants for the first round of "Seollem Festa," a matchmaking event for single men and women.
Now in its third year, Seollem Festa is Geoje City's flagship matchmaking event, aimed at expanding opportunities for healthy encounters among young people and fostering a marriage-friendly social atmosphere. To date, a total of 208 participants — 104 men and 104 women — have taken part, resulting in 45 matched couples, two of which have led to actual marriages.
The first round of this year's event will run for two days starting June 13, taking place at venues including the Geoje Healing Forest and the Geoje Family Happiness Support Center. Participants will engage in a variety of programs designed to help them share their tastes and interests and interact naturally.
The recruitment targets 32 single men and women born between 1987 and 1999. Men must be employed residents of Geoje City or employees of companies based in Geoje, while women must be employed residents of South Gyeongsang Province or employees of companies based in the province.
Applications can be submitted by email until June 5. Application forms and required documents are available on the Geoje City Hall website.
"Seollem Festa has established itself as a program that goes beyond a simple matchmaking event, allowing participants to share their values and tastes and build genuine connections," a city official said. "As shown by cases that have led to actual marriages, we will continue to promote various matchmaking event programs so that young people can form new relationships and settle stably in Geoje City."
