Seoul's Nowon District relocated and expanded its 'Green Forest Small Library' inside the Sanggye 1-dong Community Service Center to a donated space within a youth housing complex near Suraksan Station, opening it as an environment-themed library on the 18th.
The library spans a total floor area of 249.24 square meters, more than double its previous 109 square meters, and comprises a reading room, community room, and unmanned café.
It specializes in cultural programs related to 'ecological environment and low carbon,' reflecting the policy direction of Nowon, the only carbon-neutral leading city in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Beyond reading discussions and club activities, programs including performances, lectures, and exhibitions focus on the ecological environment.
The library held a soft opening on the 11th and begins formal operations with an opening ceremony at 4 p.m. on the 18th. It will operate six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
