Seoul's Seodaemun-gu is operating the "2026 Mobile Children's Safety Experience Camp" to enhance disaster response capabilities and safety awareness among elementary school students.
This year, approximately 6,200 students from 14 elementary schools in the district will participate, expanding from last year's 5,800 students across 11 schools.
The program will run through November in school classrooms and auditoriums for about 80 minutes per session, with specialized instructors providing hands-on programs tailored to students' levels.
The camp features VR-based experiences covering disaster, daily life, and water safety, along with practical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and fire extinguisher use.
Notably, this year's program newly includes personal safety education to prepare for situations such as abduction and kidnapping.
Based on high satisfaction ratings from last year's program, the district has increased both the training duration and the number of participants. The camp focuses on building safety habits that children can practice in daily life through repetitive, experience-based education.
