
Rain and wind will continue across South Korea on Monday before skies gradually clear from the afternoon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), rain will fall in the Seoul metropolitan area, South Chungcheong Province and the Jeolla region through early Monday morning.
Rain will continue in North Chungcheong Province until the morning, and in Gangwon Province and northern North Gyeongsang Province until the afternoon before stopping. Rain or snow is expected in Gangwon's mountainous areas.
Expected rainfall is 5 to 30 millimeters in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province; 5 to 10 millimeters in Daejeon, Sejong, South and North Chungcheong provinces and North Jeolla Province; and less than 5 millimeters in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, the southwestern inland and northern areas of North Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju Island. In Gangwon's high mountain areas, where temperatures are lower, 1 to 3 centimeters of snow will accumulate.
Morning lows in major cities are expected to be 9 degrees Celsius in Seoul, 9 in Incheon, 8 in Chuncheon, 10 in Gangneung, 10 in Daejeon, 11 in Daegu, 9 in Jeonju, 10 in Gwangju, 12 in Busan and 11 in Jeju.
Daytime highs will reach 20 degrees in Seoul, 19 in Incheon, 19 in Chuncheon, 18 in Gangneung, 19 in Daejeon, 20 in Daegu, 18 in Jeonju, 20 in Gwangju, 20 in Busan and 17 in Jeju.
With clean northwesterly airflow entering the peninsula, air quality will be clean and fine dust concentrations will remain at "good" levels.
Strong winds with instantaneous speeds of around 55 kilometers per hour (around 70 kilometers per hour in mountainous areas) will blow across most of the country, requiring caution in facility management and safety. Strong winds and very high waves are expected from early morning in the West Sea and parts of the East Sea, with the possibility of a high seas advisory being issued.
