Jung Chang-kyu, the husband of the late actress Kim Soo-mi and the father-in-law of actress Seo Hyo-rim, has died one year and seven months after his wife's passing.
According to bereaved family members on Tuesday, Jung passed away at 1:11 p.m. the same day. His death comes 19 months after his wife Kim Soo-mi died in October 2024.
Kim and Jung married in 1974 and had one son and one daughter. Kim had shared on several variety shows that she married Jung through an introduction by singer Jung Hoon-hee.
Their son, Jung Myung-ho, CEO of Napalggot F&B, married Seo Hyo-rim, who played Kim's daughter in the MBC drama "Man Who Sets the Table." A memorial altar has been set up at Room 9 of the Hanyang University Hospital Funeral Hall. The funeral procession is scheduled for 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, with burial to follow at Suwon Siyeon Crematorium.
