Skies across Korea will gradually clear from the morning on May 1, Labor Day and the first day of the holiday, but daytime and nighttime temperatures will diverge by as much as 15 degrees Celsius, particularly in inland areas.
Rain that began the previous day is expected to mostly end overnight. In the Gyeongsang region, showers will continue into the morning. Ulleungdo and Dokdo islands are forecast to receive 10 to 30 millimeters of rainfall. Other areas, including the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions, will see around 5 millimeters of rain before clear blue skies appear nationwide from the morning.
Temperatures are expected to remain near seasonal averages. Morning lows will range from 8 to 12 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will climb to between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius. However, inland areas such as Daegwallyeong will experience particularly wide temperature swings.
In Seoul, the Chungcheong region and the Gyeongbuk region, the rain may partially ease dry conditions. Fine dust levels will range from "good" to "moderate" across the country. The Jeju region, however, is expected to see levels temporarily spike to "bad" from late afternoon due to stagnant air.
Waves will reach up to 2.0 meters in the near waters of the East Sea and South Sea. In the open waters of the East Sea, waves could reach as high as 3.5 meters.
