Yeoju City said Wednesday it is making all-out efforts to ensure safety management for the Yeoju Ceramic Festival, which will open on the 1st of next month and run through the 10th at the Silleuksa Temple tourist area.
Ahead of the festival, Yeoju City established a safety management plan in advance and completed a review by relevant agencies. Based on this plan, a joint on-site inspection will be conducted on the 30th, involving Yeoju City, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Gyeonggi Province, police, fire authorities and other related agencies. The inspection will focus on removing risk factors at the venue in advance and intensively checking overall safety facilities.
During the festival, an integrated control center jointly operated by city and police staff will monitor the venue 24 hours a day via CCTV to prevent safety accidents. In particular, the city plans to maintain a close cooperation system with related agencies using the national disaster safety communications network (PS-LTE) to enable immediate response in case of emergencies.
In addition, a comprehensive situation room will be operated centered on the Citizen Safety Division to strengthen on-site response capabilities. The city plans to preemptively respond to various safety accidents through real-time situation management and swift decision-making.
"We will do our best to ensure that not a single accident occurs by establishing a seamless safety management system from pre-inspection to the end of the event," a Yeoju City official said. "We will make thorough preparations so that both citizens and tourists can enjoy the festival with peace of mind."
